Changing habits, one mismatched sock at a time.
Last Thursday, October 23, we opened our doors at Forebel to welcome a group of 30 students from the Erasmus exchange program. Among them were 15 Norwegian students, spending a week in the Netherlands with their peers from Durendael.
One of the highlights of their exchange program was visiting a sustainable and inspirational company and just like last year, we were more than happy to host them here at Forebel.

Change Starts at Your Feet
During their visit, Eric Roosen co owner of Forebel shared the story behind Sock by Sock. Our mission to rethink the way we consume and produce, starting with something as simple as socks. Because why should every pair be identical?
By wearing two different socks, we invite people to challenge habits, celeberate uniqueness, and make sustainability part of everyday life. It is a small but powerful statement: real change starts when we rebel to do things differently.
At first, many students were hesitant to swap their matching socks. But later on, the room was full of smiles and mismatched socks. What began as a fun activity quickly turned into a symbol of openness, creativity, and collective change.
We are proud that Durendael once again chose Forebel as part of their sustainability program. It is inspiring to see how quickly young people connect with our vision and bring fresh energy to the conversation about responsible production and consumption.
